The headquarters of Zain are located in Seef, Bahrain. The site’s external lighting dated back to 2010, so after nearly a decade it was time for a refreshed scheme. Elames, the lighting division of the building finishes specialist Behzad Group, appointed Pulsar to the project. Pulsar, the LED lighting experts, were briefed to survey the building and make recommendations to showcase the headquarters in all their glory, with a re-lit and reprogramming project.

The specific task assigned to Pulsar was to deliver a highly visual, energy-efficient, LED lighting system to span the building façade. The lighting needed to align with the Zain brand identity; bold, market-leading, cutting-edge and innovative.

To achieve this, Pulsar specified a number of LED fixtures from their extensive portfolio – several products from our Chroma range, including 505 Pulsar Chroma Strip luminaires.

All of the Pulsar fixtures are rated to IP66, ensuring they are protected from sand, dust and high humidity, alongside an ambient operating temperature rating of +50°C. This is essential in order to cope with the environment and extreme weather conditions of the region.

To complete the system, a range of Pharos controls were utilised; the Pharos TPC and the LPC4. The content for the LED elements is played via a Pharos VLC, which was specified and configured by Sensory Interactive, who specialise in the creation and delivery of dynamic lighting control.

Dave Cowan from Pulsar added: “The Zain headquarters is a striking building that matches the status and market-leading position of the brand. The solutions used from the Pulsar family not only align with this cutting-edge company, they offer the highest levels of protection against the harsh Bahraini conditions.”
