DW Windsor expands controls offering with Luceco Platform

Wireless control system leverages Bluetooth NLC technology to deliver increased energy savings and flexibility for external lighting schemes

Leading exterior lighting solutions provider, DW Windsor, has expanded its lighting controls line-up with the introduction of Luceco Platform. Powered by Bluetooth Networked Lighting Control (NLC) and Silvair technology, the wireless system makes it easy to create intelligent, energy-efficient environments while reducing operating costs across exterior sites.

Luceco Platform transforms smaller schemes — including car parks, campuses and commercial spaces — into responsive zones that illuminate only when required. The intuitive system lets operators create simple dimming profiles and fine-tune on/off times, while PIR presence detection ensures light is delivered precisely when needed. This flexibility delivers meaningful energy savings for schemes that may not justify the cost or complexity of a full central management system.

Unlike some Bluetooth lighting control systems that rely on proprietary protocols, Luceco Platform is built on the latest Bluetooth NLC open standard. This ensures true multi-vendor interoperability, allowing luminaires, sensors and controllers from different manufacturers to communicate seamlessly while protecting investments as technology evolves.

Commissioning and day-to-day management are handled via a simple app or web browser, enabling installers to group luminaires, set scenes and adjust schedules in minutes without the need for specialist training. The software also allows users to create lighting zones with bespoke profiles and upload floor plans for visual planning, providing an intuitive way to manage even complex schemes with ease.

As part of the Luceco Group, we are able to draw on extensive controls expertise to bring proven Bluetooth NLC technology to outdoor lighting applications. This allows us to offer our customers a simple, future-ready solution that delivers energy savings, smarter asset management and zero ongoing fees unless remote access is required.

The system works using a choice of two different Bluetooth-enabled nodes, one doubling as a photocell and the other as a PIR sensor. When installed, they form a resilient mesh network with line-of-sight ranges up to 40 metres. Both units mount via Zhaga Book 18 sockets and can be fitted to a range of DW Windsor luminaires. An optional gateway provides remote access, health monitoring and automated reporting.

“As part of the Luceco Group, we are able to draw on extensive controls expertise to bring proven Bluetooth NLC technology to outdoor lighting applications,” said Esther Newton, Managing Director at DW Windsor. “This allows us to offer our customers a simple, future-ready solution that delivers energy savings, smarter asset management and zero ongoing fees unless remote access is required.”
